Welcome to Stamford! We’re so excited to welcome you to our growing community and share with you some of the things that make us special. Here in the Stamford Jewish Community we pride ourselves in being welcoming, friendly and accepting. The larger Jewish community numbers over 12,000 individuals. The Stamford Jewish community has been in existence for more than one hundred years. There are two Orthodox Shuls located in Stamford - Congregation Agudath Sholom and the Young Israel of Stamford. Our Community boasts a Mikvah, an Eruv, a Chevra Kadisha, and many learning opportunities, including a Daf Yomi Shiur. The local Jewish Community Center is active in programming for all ages, has a health club and the JCC Sara Walker Nursery School. Another nursery school, Gan Yeladim, as well as a summer camp, are run by Chabad of Stamford. Jewish offerings have expanded near the waterfront of Stamford at Chabad of Harbor Point. Stamford boasts Fairfield County's only Pre-K through 12th Grade Jewish Day School, Bi-Cultural Hebrew Academy. BCHA is a Modern Orthodox school, serving a diverse population of nearly 400 students. The United Jewish Federation of Stamford has a wide array of programming and affinity groups for all ages, including a volunteer program to welcome newcomers to the area. Schoke Jewish Family Service offers many volunteer opportunities, as well as resources for those in need, including Fairfield County's only Kosher food pantry.
